Founded in February 2025 by  Demetra Cartsos with a desire to make devastatingly powerful music “The Devastation” soon stepped out of their cryptal band cellar into the limelight. 

Hailed as “Vienna`s youngest Metal Band”, they soon proved that their musical skills, sound and lyrics are beyond their age. 

By winning the U20 Podium WienXtra Band Competition on May 5th 2025 at their first ever live performance, Demetra Cartsos ( lead vocals, rhythm guitar, songwriter), Felix Habermann (lead guitar, songwriter), Theo Knittel (drums) and Liara Pühringer (bass) continued to impress. Famed for their energetic live shows and storytelling they performed at Viennese clubs (B72, Cafe Carina, Usus am Wasser, Flex, Viper Room, Escape Metal Corner,  Rhiz, Szene Wien, Gasometer) as well as festivals such as Doom over Vienna, Dunkelhate VII, Blasphemy over Villach and Metalnight Ternitz. Being local support for The Night Eternal/Year of the Goat on 27.10. 2025 made their name heard beyond their country`s borders.

Achieving 1st place at the Area53 Bandcontest 2026 and 2nd place at Planet Festival Tour 2026, Austria`s biggest band competition, they proved that their heavy darkness cannot be ignored.

 Performing at the Area53 Festival and at  Donauinselfest 2026, they shared some of the biggest stages in Austria with the likes of Avatar and Arch Enemy.

Influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, Dio, Angel Witch, Savage Master  and Lucifer they are developing their own vision of the genre with a dense bass-and drum sound, booming guitars and a vigorous haunting vocals.

The lyrics are dealing with the darkness around and within us, often inspired by nightmares, mythology, occultism and political themes. But there is always a light, that can only be seen by submerging yourself in the darkness.
